Are Twins Delayed in Laguage
Through our daily lives we have always used a form of communication from a "hello" to a "high five" which is simpily a type of language. When dealing with language some are better than others individual but what about twins? There are some assumptions that twins are somewhat delayed when dealing with langauge development and are more likely to have language disabilities. According to the article from the first early studies, twins were found to be two years behind children that were five and not twins. While later studies suggested that certain biological and social factors had a correlation to the development of langauge development in twins. From recent studies it has shown that twins are less likely to recieve directed speech from their caretakers and particpate in fewer situations due to fact that the twins attention in jointly engaged with their caretaker. Through reviewing this article twins and their personal development in language should be measured individual in order to have fair evaulation. By evaluating langauage development solely on that factors of being a twin leaves out a lot of neccessarybinding factors that may determine why certain twins have certain langauge developments.
